Chase the Goose - cages of responsibility

What is it about our "brand" of Christianity that makes it so tame, so boring? In this series based on "Wild Goose Chase" we'll look at the cages we've built for the Holy Spirit.

Walls

How many walls have we created that block people from the grace of Jesus? How can we tear them down? A gentile woman can show us the way.

Roofbusters

Whatever it takes

Now and Later

It's time to DO something!

My House

Jesus clears the temple. Why? What does it mean for us?

Crossroads

What does Jesus want from us, really?

Wilderness

What was the purpose of the wilderness for Jesus? What effect did it have? What can we learn from our own wilderness experiences?

Balance

what really matters?

Lost In Translation

Rules or Relationship? Is Christianity defined by what we do or what we do not do?

Counter-Cultural - Mourn

No recording this week. I'll try to jot some notes down.

Identify

What does baptism mean?

Crux

What is the "crux" of following Jesus?

Worth

What's a life worth? And who decides that worth?

Treasure

What's a relationship with Jesus worth? everything.

So This Is Christmas

So this is Christmas? This sermon helps with the dissatisfaction some people come away with after the holiday is over.

You Say You Want A Revolution

The last sermon in the "Let It Be Christmas" series focuses on the revolution that Jesus' birth began.

All the Lonely People

We weren't meant to live alone.

Nothing's Going To Change My Life

What will it take to get through to us? Nothing is impossible with God. Nothing.

    Boast?

    what really matters?

    Un-Change You Can Believe In

On the immutability of God and what it means to us.

    Tri_Unity

Sermon explaining how the Trinity is perceived and shown through the Scriptures.

We Hold These Truths - God Can Be Known

Our nation began on the strength of their understanding of the vision they had of a nation. The words that launched a revolution reflect that: "We hold these truths to be self-evident..." In today's church, we need a radical restatement of what we believe that will stick with us just as those words did them.

Can We Be Free of FUD - Romans 8

In the midst of fear, uncertainty and doubt, who can we trust? Can we rely on God? Is Romans 8:28 still true when the stock market falls? The answer is YES!

Jonah - Who Do You Love?

Is it right for us to be angry at God? How can we handle our anger?

Jonah and the God of Second Chances

Who deserves a second chance? Who decides who gets one?

Jonah - The Message and the Messenger

What was it about the message that caused the messenger to run so hard in the opposite direction?

    All In

What does God want? It all.

    Got guts?

What is the Christian life supposed to be? A race to the finish, or a stroll to the couch?

    The Power of We

What God can do through any church is only limited by the ability of the people of that church to trust Him and place their lives in His hands.

    iHurt

Everybody hurts. But who can make our hurts have meaning and help us live in freedom? Only Jesus.

    iDoubt

The message was titled "iDoubt" and my hope was to remove the stigma of doubt and place it within people's concepts of Christian faith. Far too many believers have fallen under the impression that "good Christians" never doubt what God is doing or how He does it. I used the examples from Mark 9 (father of the possessed boy), the woman and the issue of blood, and finally Thomas to hopefully help people through that.

    iWonder

How do you relate to God? How should we?

    Identity Theft - Christianity

So what is Christianity anyway? So many people claim to be living as Christians but their actions don't seem to square with what Jesus did.

Identity Theft - the Believer Version

Who am I? Why am I here? These are questions that deal with our identity. The Bible can help us understand who we are in Christ. No audio this week - equipment malfunction. Sorry

      Can You Fill the Shoes?

On Mother's day, I had used the story of Hannah and Samuel to discuss the special qualities of a God honoring Mom. Today I continued the story but from the standpoint of how BAD a father Eli was. What happened? Why did this man of God lose his sons to wickedness? What can parents do to try to ensure their kids don't turn out that way?

      Look At Me

Is healing for today? Why was the first act of the Apostles an act of healing? Is Salvation as we understand it, all that Jesus intended for us to understand about the coming of the Kingdom of God?

      Connecting the Dots

A message that traces the work of the Holy Spirit back to Genesis, at Pentecost, and in every believer today.

      The Sequel

A look at what the sequel to Jesus' work here on earth is and who the actors in the Story are.

New Life, New Joy, New Hope

An outline of who we are and why we do what we do as a church.

      If Hannah Was Here

A Mother's day sermon focusing on turning away from culture, turning to God, and giving everything over to His care.

Blind spots the sequel - Hypocrisy

Second in the "Blind Spots" series, this sermon takes a look at what hypocrisy is, where it comes from, what it's effects are, and how we can break free.

      Blind spots - pride

All of us have them - blind spots. Places in our walk with Christ where we're headed for a crash.

      It's Been Six Years

Today marks the sixth anniversary of our granddaughter Anastasia Elizabeth Wilson being stillborn. Each year I write about what God is doing in our lives as He helps us with that great pain. I have collected all of them today, from the beginning until now. My prayer is that somehow, someway, they will be used to help others find hope and peace in Jesus.

Why? The problem of pain and evil

If there is a God, and He is good, then why do so many people suffer? Why do so many bad things happen? Why is there still evil? In this message, I try to push past the pat answers and lead the listener to an understanding of just where God stands on the issues that try people's souls. Here's a hint - He marked where He stands with a cross.

Big Questions: How Could A Loving God Send Someone To Hell?

A look at one of the most familiar questions nonbelievers have about God. How could a loving God send someone to hell?
