Rivers of Joy Baptist Church is located in Minford Ohio.  While the orgainization is Baptist, we are a body of belilevers who whole a high view of God, and accept the authority of Scripture. 

IT IS WITHIN THE CHURCH PARTICULAR THAT WE COMMIT OURSELVES TO INITIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH FELLOW BELIEVERS AND SUBMIT OURSELVES TO ACCOUNTABILITY, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES.  IN THIS ASSEMBLY OUR CHRISTIAN CHARACTER IS SHAPED. IT IS THE CONTEXT IN WHICH OUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS ARE DEVELOPED AND EXERCISED. IT IS THE FAMILY WHOSE TIES CANNOT BE BROKEN. IT IS THE TRAINING CAMP THAT DISCIPLES AND EQUIPS BELIEVERS TO BE GOD’S PEPOLE AGAINST THE WORLD AND FOR THE WORLD.

My Personal desire is to have a church where people love the word of god

 I desire that the lord would give us people who truly love to know HIM,

And to know his WILL, and desire to SERVE HIM, AND TO

DESIRE TO HEAR THE TEACHING AND PREACHING OF THE WORD OF GOD.

 THE CENTER OF OUR MINISTRY AT RIVERS OF JOY BAPTIST CHURCH, IS GOING TO BE THE TEACHING OF THE WORD OF GOD, OUR ONLY OJBECTIVE IS TO BE OBEDIENT TO THE WILL GOD, AND SEEK TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HIS WILL IS FOR US AND OUR CHURCH BODY.

 MY HOPE AS THE PASTOR/TEACHER IS THIS:

CHRISTIANS ARE GOING TO BE HUNGRY TO KNOW THE WORD AND WILL DESIRE TO LEARN WHAT GOD IS SAYING TO US ABOUT HIM AND JESUS CHRIST His son. 

How he wants us to love him, and praise him and to give him glory and worhsip.

That is why we have three times on Sunday and one time on Wednesday to hear the teaching of the word,

 1.     Expository preaching should be defined as preaching that seeks to explain the main point of the portion of the Scripture selected.

2.     Expository preaching does not always have to take place as part of a long series working slowly through a book. Series can be helpful, but they need not last a decade. One-off sermons on specific verses, a chapter, or even a whole book can also be expository.

1.     We must not have an overly-narrow definition of expository preaching — thinking that there is only one way to preach. Instead we must encompass the many different styles of preaching which are helpful and biblically directed. We must also understand that whilst the message of a specific verse is, of course, unified rather than divided or contradictory, its meaning is usually rich and many faceted. Because of this, different themes may be drawn out of the same passage, giving rise to very different sermons from the very same portion of the Bible.
