The Church: Distinguished by the Word - 1 Thessalonians 2:13-20
The Bible is our authority. The Word of God is our only rule for faith and practice. Our lives must reflect a healthy respect for the authority of God's Word.
The Church: Distinguished by Authenticity - 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12
Everybody appreciates authenticity. Christians must be authentic. We must be genuine. We must be "the real thing".
The Church: Distinguished by Reputation - 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10
Reputations are important. The reputation of the church hinges on the reputation of it's members. 1 Thessalonians tells us how we can have a good reputation as a church and as individuals.
Captivity and the People of God - Jeremiah 29:1-14
The Bible has answers for people who are seeking to live godly lives in the midst of a very ungodly society. Jeremiah 29 offers us an example of the people of Judah who were in captivity. They were placed in the midst of a pagan society as punishment for their own deviation from the law of God. How were they to live? Jeremiah 29:1-14 gives us some answers.
The Church: Devoted for the Glory of God - Titus 3:8-15
Healthy churches are made up of people who are devoted to living out the gospel in their lives. Good works don't save us. Good works could never save us. Only Jesus saves us. And the same grace that saves us is the same grace that sanctifies us and enable us to engage in good works for the glory of God.
The Church: Rescued for the Glory of God - Titus 3:3-8
Beautiful words: But when the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, he rescued us! Glory! Grace!
The Church: Living for the Glory of God - Titus 3:1-2
Believing people have a responsibility to live for the glory of God in the midst of a world system that is in many ways antagonistic to what the Bible teaches. We are called to submit to civil authorities and respect all other citizens in spite of their antagonism to what we believe. As we live for the glory of God, His grace shines through us and allows us to shine as a gospel light in the midst of a dark world. Let us live for His glory!
The Church: Holy for the Glory of God (Abbreviated) - Titus 2:11-15
This is an abbreviated version of the other sermon by the same title. This recording eliminates the lengthy introduction and goes right to the text which reminds us that the grace of God should be our teacher.
The Church: Holy for the Glory of God - Titus 2:11-15
The grace of God teaches us to be a holy people for the glory of God. The people of God must be sober, righteous, and godly. They accomplish this by denying ungodliness and worldly lusts and by looking for the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
The Church: Maturing for the Glory of God - Titus 2:1-10
Healthy churches are full of maturing believers. No matter what our age, we must be maturing in Christ.
The Church: Restrained for the Glory of God - Titus 2:1-10
Healthy churches are comprised of people who never lose sight of their personal need for holy living. Additionally, they never lose sight of their need to disciple others.
